Abstract
The Doctorate in Professional Practice (DProf) programme at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) provides a means for practitioners in a range of professions to undertake research, and achieve doctoral status, whilst maintaining their professional roles. The programme is generic, covering a wide range of professional backgrounds, though most are allied to the social sciences. Students on the programmes are generally mature individuals, senior in their fields, from across the world. They have significant expertise in their professional fields, but often have limited understanding of quantitative research processes, including the use of statistics. Young German woman defends her doctoral thesis in Cuban university
Havana, Feb 23 (Prensa Latina) The young German Sandra Lichtblau successfully defended her doctoral thesis in the central province of Villa Clara, in Cuba, an example of bilateral scientific and academic cooperation, Cuba s Foreign Ministry highlighted on Tuesday. According to the Cubaminrex website, the work entitled, Treatment of Recycled Aggregates for the Production of a Durable Structural Concrete was supervised by Fernando Martirena, professor of the Central Marta Abreu University of Las Villas.
The defense took place in a virtual room of that university with the presence of the members of the Committee, opponents and supervisors, as well as the Cuban ambassador to Germany, Ramon Ripoll, other officials of the diplomatic headquarters, professors and interested public.

Islamabad : The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced Phase-III of Post-Doctoral Fellowship Programme for Pakistani and Azad Jammu and Kashmir nationals.
According to HEC on Sunday, the applications had been invited from PhD degree holders of HEC recognised local or international universities.
The candidate must be a regular employee of public/private sector HEC recognised university /DAI or public sector Research & Development organisation recognised by Pakistani Council of Science & Technology, it mentioned.
The candidates are directed to submit online applications through research hec.gov.pk. For further information the applicants may visit www.hec.gov.pk/site/postdoc. HEC also announced 15th April 2021 as deadline for the submission of applications.
